Okay, sermon in church yesterday.
Actually you can read the summary of the sermon in Xuehui's blog.
Too bad, only certain people are allowed to enter her blog.
Hmm, my summarization is bad.
Mostly, i'll list most of the things what the pastor said.
Church sermon (15 Feb):
Where is Kingdom of God ? (this is a very important question)
Answer may not be accurate, problem lies with translation.
But ! Change form of word for us to digest & understand better.
Cor 1:1
God has raised us up together and made us to sit with him in heavenly places.
Not referring to heaven. It's unseen world of realities.
2 worlds we live.
We must not get lost in transaction to equate the Kingdom of God with the local church, the building and its people.
Body of Christ where believers are, that's the Kingdom of God, superior to the Kingdom of the world.
It's obvious because we think we are freed from sins.
Have been delivered into Kingdom of his son of love.
Paul says that we can be filled with knowledge of God's will.
It's whether you want to believe the Kingdom of God as citizens.
We have to understand and willing to tune in.
About spiritual understanding.
Then we can have God's wisdom to understand.
In unseen realities, we need to know how that Kingdom works.
Able to function how to know that how spirit works
Ability to distinguish Kingdom's values.
Paul says that God has revealed all things that searched by the spirit of God
.Example: Research is able to work because of spiritual understanding.
Then ask for God's wisdom.
Sometimes, it may prompt further.
It's spirit of God to ask more questions.
Spiritual understanding when it comes to money? Yes, why not.
But Kingdom people must bring the values of Kingdom of God.
Kingdom values and applications are applicable everywhere anytime.
Cor 1:11
Paul said that we are strong with strength that comes from the might of God.
Meaning the power of God, strength to stick out of long haul not the spirit.
Given to us to live God's ways.
Takes long time to overcome the aggression to get Kingdom values in place.
Example(happened in real life):
A young man was discouraged in battle against slavery.
He got a letter from John Wesley before his death.
It was about words.
Read unless divine power raises you up.
What this was trying to tell us?
Discouraged if God is for you then who can be against you.
As a committed christian, it makes use to help change the world.
Advancing concerns of church and society.
As there are great challenges we will face.
Then, need strength of God, not about the fundamental values.
We are in Kingdom of God.
Pastor mentioned that he was from boys' bridge when he was young.
He learnt the advancement of the Kingdom principles.
Their responsibility to advance Kingdom of God in earth.
That's all about church sermon !
About the SF (15Feb) that leaded by Pat/Caroline,
It was awesome !
We were divided into 2 groups after their sharing & had to act out from what we understood from their sharing.
It was about Gideon.
He & his soldiers went to defeat the Midnighties(forgot the sp).
Firstly, Gideon had 32000 soldiers with him.
But God told him not to have too many.
Cut down to 100 soldiers, still not very satisfied. In the end, took 300 men together with him to the battle.
God was with their side
(they heard from the Midnighties when they chatted in their tents about the battle)
In the end, Gillion together with 300 men unexpectedly attacked their enemy while they were sleeping.
Secondly, the altars are other Gods.
We Christians respect one only true God.
God asked Gideon to break the altar. Although he was scared, he still did it for the sake of God.
That was all, i guess ?
